I drink plenty of water everyday, but I would like suggestions about preparing healthier meals for me and my fiance.

Diabetes is common in both of our families. Plus his late grandpa and dad had/have heart problems related to consuming too much sodium.

Is it true that pre-made meals, like what you would find in the frozen section, contain more sodium than fresh, home cooked meals?

Is sea salt really better than regular salt? And what about "I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter", is it better than regular butter?

What are some good foods that are healthy and low in sodium?

I’m looking for some meal ideas. I’m a full time college student working part time as well. I’m looking for some meal ideas! It gets a little complicated seeing as I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend is a picky meat eater (mother never made him eat his veggies, hes been living off Chef Boyardee and other child favorites since he was about 2!) Anyway, I’m not as concerned about myself as getting some good home cooked meals on the table for my boyfriend.

He loves beef and chicken, anything Italian (spaghetti, pizza and lasagna are his favorites. He hates tomatoes, but loves ketchup and tomato sauces. He doesn’t like… well.. any green vegetables (though I could possibly sneak some in if he wouldn’t notice. He’s a fan of most fruits I believe…

I’m just looking for some new ideas! Anything is a help! :) . (and once again me being a vegetarian is no big consideration with meals, I can figure out how to adapt a bowl for me)

Thanks for the help!!!

I’m not saying get in the kitchen preggo and barefoot, but it would help your relationship out "TREMENDOUSLY" if you cooked for you man. Hell most men are content with sandwiches, that will pass for a home cooked meal. Through out the evolution of history, women have always cooked and also cooked better then most men. Even though there are men that can cook and do so regularly, most men don’t cook well or at all. Also if you feed your man, you know good and well he’s not going to be able to lay it down with another woman, and you should know this from first hand experience. Because we all know once a man eats a heavy good meal, he goes right to sleep. Meaning the penis isn’t ready for action. All I’m saying is you don’t have to cook everyday, just cook for man once in awhile. We are suckers for home cooked meals, and if you bake…..its a wrap, we are yours forever.

As part of a fresh start to a New Year, my fiance and I have decided to start cooking new recipes together once a week. We would like to get a cook book, and every week, try a new recipe. We don’t want anything too fancy. We are planning to have kids sometime in the near future, and would like to learn how to make some good home cooked meals. Examples would be any kinds of pastas, chicken dishes (like stuffed chicken, chicken parmigiana, etc.), pot roasts, ribs, etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good cook book?

Thanks :)

Remember the days of good home cooked meals? Now more often than not these good old fashioned home cooked meals are referred to gourmet meals. And consumers are paying hefty prices for such things, when they could prepare and cook these meals for a fraction of the price.
I don’t have a question, it’s more of an observance. I was wondering if anybody else agrees with me?
